About Shannon

For over 20 years, I've been working side-by-side with families to support children in growing, learning, and thriving across all areas of development. From the tiniest milestones to the big wins, I believe every child deserves to feel confident, capable, and celebrated.

I actually started my journey as an early childhood teacher—so supporting little ones has always been in my heart. I became an occupational therapist shortly after and dove into pediatric care in Wisconsin and Illinois, where I served as the Lead Early Childhood OT for a city-based special education cooperative. It was an incredible opportunity to partner with families and educators to support children, both in the classroom and at home.

When I moved to Texas, I continued doing what I love—working in early childhood programs, school-age classrooms, home health care, and even community mental health and behavioral clinics. These diverse experiences have helped me develop a well-rounded, whole-child approach to therapy that's rooted in compassion and collaboration.

I'm certified in pediatrics and school systems through the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), and I'm committed to using evidence-based practices that make a real difference. But beyond the credentials, I believe what really matters is building strong, trusting relationships with the families I work with. I want you to feel heard, supported, and empowered—because you're the expert on your child, and we're in this together.

Whether I'm helping a child regulate their sensory world, build fine motor skills, or find confidence in daily routines, my goal is always the same: to make therapy feel purposeful, playful, and personal.

Outside of helping families

Other interests.

When I'm enjoying time away from work, I am an avid half marathon runner (finisher — I am no longer seeking first place!) and traveler. I travel abroad at least twice yearly to run a race or two and, while I'm there, I soak in the magic of new places. I love to eat my way through places I explore! When not training or eating, you'll often find me on the sidelines cheering for my favorite baseball player, my son.

Kinspire's innovative approach to occupational therapy practice helps me connect and grow with families as we work together towards family centered goals. Unlike traditional settings, I have more flexibility and can really provide occupation based, family focused therapy.
