QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
You don't have to figurethis out on your own.
Everything parents ask us most - from getting started to privacy, pricing, and how Kinspire actually works.
01 - Getting Started
How do I get started with Kinspire?+
You create a free account — no credit card required. From there, Kinspire walks you through a clinical assessment created intentionally by our clinical leadership team. You'll be asked about your child's patterns, triggers, sensory profile, environment, and the moments that feel hardest. It takes about 20–30 minutes and becomes the foundation for everything Kinspire builds for your family. You can start on your phone, tablet, or laptop — wherever you are.
Do I need a credit card to start?+
No. Kinspire's free tier - Dawn Starter - requires no credit card. You get unlimited Clinical Assessments, your Family Profile, one family support topic, and one OT and Parenting Workshop completely free. You only upgrade when you're ready for more.
What do I actually get when I first sign up?+
The moment you complete your clinical assessment, Dawn builds your Family Profile - a living understanding of your child, your family, and your environment. Then she generates your first family support topic: step-by-step strategies and articles written specifically for your family's first challenge. You also get access to one live OT and Parenting Workshop - free.
Is Kinspire available on mobile and desktop?+
Yes. Kinspire is available via the App Store, Google Play, and directly on the web. It's designed to be there wherever you are - on your phone during pickup, on your laptop after bedtime. The hard moments don't wait, and neither does Kinspire.
How long does the clinical assessment take?+
Most families complete our initial clinical assessment in under 30 minutes. It includes questions crafted by our clinical team about your child's skills — sensory, executive function, social, and learning. Then we learn about your needs and current challenges, identify potential root causes, and finish by understanding you as a parent and your environment. We use all of this to hyperpersonalize your resources so the solutions stick.
02 - Who We Help
Is this right for my child?+
Kinspire was built for families raising children with developmental differences - kids whose nervous systems, learning, regulation, sensory processing, or behavior work differently, and for whom conventional approaches consistently fall short. Whether your child has a formal diagnosis or you're still figuring out what's going on, Kinspire was built for families like yours. If generic parenting advice has never quite applied, this was made for you.
Do I need a diagnosis to use Kinspire?+
No. Kinspire serves families whether your child has a formal diagnosis, you're waiting on results, or you simply know your child is wired differently. What matters is whether standard strategies have consistently fallen short for your family. If they have, Kinspire was built for you. Kinspire works with children navigating: ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Sensory differences, Executive function challenges, Learning differences, Speech and language delays, Pathological demand avoidance, Avoidant/restrictive eating, OCD patterns, Tourette syndrome, Down syndrome, Dyslexia, Depression, and more.
What ages of children does Kinspire support?+
Kinspire supports families at every stage of childhood. The clinical team includes expertise across infant development through adolescence and high school. The support Dawn generates adapts to your child's specific age and developmental stage - a toddler with sensory processing differences needs a fundamentally different approach than a teenager navigating ADHD in high school, and Kinspire reflects that.
Is Kinspire for parents only, or does it work directly with my child?+
Kinspire is built entirely for the parent. Not because the child doesn't matter - because the research is clear: parents are the single most powerful force in a child's development. More than any therapist, teacher, or app. Real change happens at home, in the daily routines, in the moments between appointments. That's where Kinspire shows up - through you. If you're looking for a service that works with your child independently, this isn't it. Kinspire gives you what you need to be exactly the support your child needs.
What if I'm not sure Kinspire is right for us?+
Start for free. No credit card, no commitment. Complete the clinical assessment and see what Dawn builds for your family. The first strategies and articles you receive will tell you more than any description could. If what you get feels genuinely different from anything you've tried, you'll know. If it's not the right fit, you haven't paid anything.
Who is Kinspire NOT for?+
Kinspire is not for parents looking for general parenting tips, families with neurotypical kids who want a wellness app, or anyone looking for one-size-fits-all answers. It's also not for parents who want to step back and let someone else handle it - Kinspire works with you, the parent, because you are the most powerful force in your child's development. It's for parents who are ready to be their child's greatest asset.
03 - How It Works
How does Kinspire "learn" my family?+
Every interaction with Kinspire adds to a growing clinical understanding of your family. Your clinical assessment, conversations with Dawn, and live sessions all feed into your Family Profile - helping identify patterns, surface insights, and deepen understanding over time. It never resets. It never starts from scratch. The more you use it, the more it knows - and the more specific, accurate, and useful the support becomes.
How do strategies and articles work?+
Your family's strategies and articles are a permanent, always-growing library of support - every single one generated specifically for your child, your home, and your real daily challenges. It's not a library of pre-written content. It's not a recommendation engine. Dawn builds each strategy and article from scratch, drawing only from what she knows about your family. Nothing resets. Nothing gets lost. What worked for your child last month is still there - and what's working now gets layered on top.
What is the Family Profile?+
Your Family Profile is the living foundation that makes everything in Kinspire specific to your family. It captures your child's nervous system patterns, sensory profile, behavioral triggers, environmental factors, and the real dynamics of your daily life. Unlike a static intake form that gets filed away, it never stops learning - every conversation and session deepens it. No two families ever receive the same support.
What is the Dawn Loop?+
The Dawn Loop is the compounding learning cycle at the heart of Kinspire. It works like this: a parent shares a challenge -> Dawn generates strategies and articles tailored to that challenge -> the parent tries it and gives feedback -> what works gets saved and built on. The loop never resets. Every pass through it makes Kinspire's support more specific, more accurate, and more useful - so you're never starting from scratch, and support that works compounds over time.
Can I get help in the moment - like at 7 a.m. when things fall apart?+
Yes. That's exactly what Kinspire was built for. The hard moments don't happen in a clinic - they happen at 7 a.m., in the car, at homework time, at bedtime. Dawn is available around the clock. Kinspire Complete members have anytime chat access - so when things fall apart in real time, you're not searching the internet alone. You have someone who already knows your child.
What does "generated" mean - how is this different from a recommendation engine?+
Every strategy, article, and insight Dawn creates is generated from scratch for your family - not pulled from a database, not a template with your child's name inserted, not pre-written content surfaced by an algorithm. Two families can describe the exact same problem - "my child refuses to leave the house in the morning" - and receive completely different guidance, because their children are completely different people with different nervous systems, environments, and histories. That's not personalization. That's generation. No two families have ever received the same thing from Kinspire. They never will.
04 - Dawn, Your AI Coach
Is Kinspire just AI?+
No. Kinspire is a complete support system - AI is what makes the support specific and always available, but the clinical foundation behind everything is built and led by real occupational therapists and neuropsychologists. Every framework Dawn uses is grounded in real clinical expertise. Every live session is hosted by a licensed OT or neuropsychologist. And Dawn herself is trained on Kinspire's OT-informed clinical methodology, Precision Parenting™. Think of it this way: the clinical depth was always there. Access to it wasn't. Kinspire changes that.
What makes Dawn different from a generic AI chatbot?+
Generic AI tools can answer questions. They can't understand your child. Dawn isn't a chatbot - she's your family's AI coach. She draws on everything in your Family Profile. She knows your child's triggers, their sensory profile, what worked last Tuesday and what didn't. When you bring her a hard moment, she already knows the context. So instead of starting from scratch every time, you get guidance that builds on everything that came before. Always on. Always learning. Always in your corner.
How do I talk to Dawn?+
Through chat - anytime, on any device. You can ask questions, talk through hard moments without feeling judged, get help turning overwhelm into clear next steps, and adjust strategies in real time when things don't go as planned. Dawn asks what you need - she doesn't give you generic answers, because she doesn't know generic answers. She only knows yours.
Does Dawn remember things between conversations?+
Yes. Nothing resets. Everything Dawn learns about your family - from your assessment, your conversations, your sessions - is retained in your Family Profile. Dawn doesn't start fresh each time you open the app. She builds. Over time, Kinspire doesn't just know your child - it knows your family's journey. And that changes everything.
Can I trust the guidance Dawn gives me?+
Dawn's guidance is grounded in occupational therapy research and Kinspire's clinical methodology, Precision Parenting™ - built and reviewed by licensed pediatric OTs and neuropsychologists with decades of experience. Every strategy she generates, every framework she teaches, is rooted in how children actually develop, regulate, and experience the world. Dawn is not a replacement for clinical care when it's needed, but for the 167 hours a week when families are on their own - she's the most clinically informed support you've ever had in your corner.
What if a strategy Dawn suggests doesn't work for us?+
Tell her. After trying a strategy, you can tell Dawn it was tried, how it went, or that it's not for your family - and she adjusts. Your strategies and articles can be modified, refined, or replaced. What doesn't fit gets adjusted. What works gets built on. The system learns forward with you, and nothing is locked in. Your honest feedback is what makes the support more and more precise over time.
05 - Clinical & Therapists
Who are the clinicians behind Kinspire?+
Kinspire's clinical team is led by Lily Baiser, MS, OTR/L - Co-Founder and Chief Clinical Officer, a licensed pediatric occupational therapist with 17+ years of experience across clinics, homes, schools, and virtual care - and Dr. Jill Gitten Aloia, PhD, ABPP-CN - Chief Neuropsychologist, a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist with 20+ years of experience in developmental neuropsychology, executive function, and learning differences. The extended clinical team includes 22+ licensed pediatric OTs with specialized certifications across sensory processing, feeding, regulation, motor development, ADHD, autism, and more. Clinical trust is not outsourced. Every person on this team is exceptional at what they do.
What is Precision Parenting™?+
Precision Parenting™ is Kinspire's OT-informed clinical methodology - built on one core belief: "Behavior makes sense when you understand the body and brain behind it." It's the first framework built entirely for parents raising outside-the-box kids. Rather than telling you what to do in hard moments, it explains why those moments happen - so parents build the understanding to solve not just the problem in front of them, but the next one too. It rests on five pillars: Data · Connection · Regulation · Expectations · Progress.
Is this a replacement for therapy?+
No. Kinspire is not a replacement for clinical therapy when it's needed - it's what happens between sessions. Therapy is one hour a week, if your family is lucky enough to get in. The other 167 hours belong to you. That's where Kinspire lives: in the morning routines, the meltdowns, the bedtime battles, the moments right before things fall apart. Kinspire fills the gap between appointments with clinically grounded support that's always available, always specific, and always building on what came before.
Will Kinspire conflict with the therapy my child is already receiving?+
Kinspire is designed to complement existing clinical care, not replace or conflict with it. The strategies and guidance Dawn generates are grounded in occupational therapy and neuropsychology research - the same clinical foundations your child's therapists work from. Many families use Kinspire to carry the clinical understanding from their child's therapy sessions into their daily home life, reinforcing what therapists are working on between appointments.
Does Kinspire cover all 50 states?+
Yes. Kinspire is available to any English-speaking family, anywhere - immediately. There's no geography lock, no waitlist, no insurance approval process. Dawn is always on. The live sessions are virtual and open to all members. For families who've spent months on therapy waitlists, Kinspire is available right now.
06 - Sessions & Community
What kinds of live sessions does Kinspire offer?+
There are three formats: OT and Parenting Workshops - interactive clinical teaching with live parent Q&A. Focused teaching blocks with clear takeaways on topics like executive function, sensory routines, co-regulation, and school advocacy - strategies you can try the same day. Community Support Groups - small-group sessions led by Kinspire's Chief Neuropsychologist and Chief Clinical Officer, connecting parents navigating similar challenges. Q&A Office Hours - live sessions where you can ask Kinspire's OTs anything in real time. Bring your questions, a moment you're stuck on, or challenges from the week.
How often do sessions happen?+
Every week. There's always something worth showing up for. Sessions repeat throughout the month - so you can attend what matches your schedule. New sessions are added regularly. Kinspire Complete members have unlimited access to all sessions. Dawn Starter (free) includes one OT and Parenting Workshop of your choice.
What if I miss a session?+
Every workshop recording is saved to your member library - available to watch anytime, as many times as you need. Support group and Q&A sessions are privately logged in your account for you to revisit whenever you need them. The sessions don't disappear. They stay with you.
Who leads the sessions?+
All sessions are led by Kinspire's licensed occupational therapists and neuropsychologists - 22+ clinicians with an average of 17+ years of experience and 50+ specialized certifications. Lily Baiser and Dr. Jill Gitten Aloia personally host many sessions and show up live every week. These aren't generic webinars - they're led by the same clinicians who built the system, who understand outside-the-box kids from the inside.
Will I connect with other parents who actually understand?+
Yes. Kinspire's Community Support Groups connect you with other parents navigating similar challenges - ADHD, autism, sensory processing, PDA, school refusal, and more. These aren't generic parenting forums. They're small, facilitated groups with a Kinspire clinician in the room, built around the shared experience of raising outside-the-box kids. There's a room full of clinicians and parents who get it.
07 - Pricing & Membership
What's included in the free plan?+
The Dawn Starter plan is free forever - no credit card required. It includes: unlimited Clinical Assessments, your Family Profile, one family support topic (strategies + articles generated for your family), and one OT and Parenting Workshop of your choice. It's a real taste of what Kinspire does - not a watered-down demo.
What does Kinspire Complete include?+
Kinspire Complete unlocks the full membership: unlimited Clinical Assessments, anytime chat with Dawn, unlimited family support topics, unlimited OT and Parenting Workshops, unlimited Community Support Groups, unlimited Q&A Office Hours, and the on-demand video library. Choose how you pay: Monthly ($39.00/mo), Quarterly ($33.00/mo — $99 every 3 months, save 15%), or Annual ($24.92/mo — $299/year, save 36%). Same features on every plan.
Is Kinspire worth it? How does it compare to parent coaching?+
Typical parent coaching costs $150–300 per session — and most parent coaches aren't licensed OTs or neuropsychologists. Support is limited to scheduled sessions, with no help between them when things fall apart, no ongoing clinical data about your child and family, and no growing library of custom strategies. Kinspire Complete starts at $24.92/mo when billed annually ($299/year), or $39/mo month-to-month. You get clinical expertise from licensed OTs and neuropsychologists built into every response, always-on support (2 a.m., between appointments, in the exact moment things fall apart), a Family Profile that grows with every interaction, custom strategies and articles generated only for your family, live sessions with real clinicians, and a community of parents who truly get it.
When am I billed?+
Billing begins when you upgrade to Kinspire Complete. Monthly plans renew every month on your upgrade date. Quarterly plans bill $99 every 3 months. Annual plans bill $299 once per year. The free plan (Dawn Starter) has no billing - ever.
Can I upgrade or cancel anytime?+
Yes. You can upgrade from Dawn Starter to Kinspire Complete anytime from within the app. You can also cancel anytime - no questions asked, no penalties. Kinspire is built on the belief that parents should have what they need. That means no lock-in.
What happens to my strategies and articles if I cancel?+
Everything Dawn has built for your family is yours. Your Family Profile and any strategies and articles you've built stay saved. Nothing disappears. The support that compounded stays compounded - even if you pause your membership. When you come back, Dawn picks up exactly where you left off.
Does insurance cover Kinspire?+
Kinspire is not currently covered by insurance. Full membership starts at $24.92/mo when billed annually. It's designed to be accessible without the barriers of the insurance system - no referrals, no prior authorizations, no coverage gaps. For families who've watched months pass on therapy waitlists, or who've had coverage denied for the support their child actually needs, Kinspire is available right now.
08 - Privacy & Safety
Is my family's information private and secure?+
Yes. Kinspire is built for families sharing sensitive information — and we treat it that way. Your account is private to your family. We use industry-standard encryption and secure cloud infrastructure. Sensitive details like your child's name are protected before anything is sent to our AI partners. Kinspire is designed to HIPAA standards for health information, and our full Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices explain how we protect your data.
Will Kinspire sell my data or use it to train AI?+
Never for sale, and never for public AI models. Kinspire does not sell your family's personal information. We do not share identifiable information with advertisers, and we do not use your child's information for ad targeting. We may use your interactions to make Dawn smarter for Kinspire families — that improvement stays inside Kinspire, not in public AI systems. These commitments are non-negotiable.
What data does Kinspire actually store?+
Only what Dawn needs to support your family over time: your clinical assessment responses, conversations with Dawn, the strategies and articles she creates for you, and feedback on what you've tried. That continuity is what makes support more specific and useful the longer you use Kinspire — Dawn builds on what she already knows about your child and your home.
Who has access to my family's profile?+
Your family's Kinspire account is yours alone — authenticated access means only your family sees your profile and conversations. Kinspire is built for parents and caregivers, not for children to use directly. When you share information with Dawn, we protect identifying details (like names) before sending content to external AI services. If you ever have a question about your data, our team is reachable at privacy@kinspireapp.com.
What if I need to delete my account and all my data?+
You can request deletion at any time — this is your data. Email privacy@kinspireapp.com and we'll help you remove your Clinical Profile and associated information. We built Kinspire knowing parents share some of the most sensitive information there is, and honoring your right to delete it is part of that promise.
09 - vs. Other Options
How is Kinspire different from other parenting apps?+
Most parenting apps give you content. A library of articles, tips, trackers, or videos - built for a general audience and surfaced by a recommendation engine. Kinspire doesn't surface content. It generates it. Every strategy, article, and insight is built from scratch, for your family only, drawing from what Dawn knows about your child's nervous system, your home, and your daily patterns. Nothing Kinspire creates existed before you arrived. That's not a feature. That's the entire difference.
How is Kinspire different from searching the internet or asking ChatGPT?+
Generic AI tools answer questions. They have no clinical foundation, no knowledge of your child's nervous system, and no ability to build support that compounds over time. When you ask ChatGPT about morning meltdowns, you get information written for everyone - which means it fits no one specifically. When you bring the same moment to Dawn, she already knows your child's sensory profile, your home environment, what you tried last week and how it went. The answer could only exist because of what she knows about your family.
How does Kinspire compare to gentle parenting, behaviorism, and other approaches?+
Every major parenting approach - gentle parenting, behaviorism, permissive parenting - was built around a neurotypical developmental baseline. None were built around the nervous system science that outside-the-box kids actually need. Precision Parenting™ is the first framework built entirely for this. It addresses nervous system science, provides profile-based support, works without a diagnosis, treats behavior as communication, equips parents as agents of change, and delivers real-time support. It doesn't compete with the other approaches - it's built for the families those approaches consistently miss.
I've tried books, apps, TikTok, therapy waitlists. What makes this different?+
You're not doing anything wrong. You're under-supported. The books almost apply - but your child is always the exception. The apps work for two weeks. The TikToks give you information but not understanding. The therapy waitlist stretches 12-18 months. None of those were built for how your child is actually wired. Kinspire was. It's not a better version of those things. It's a completely different model: clinical support built from scratch for only your family, available at 2 a.m., that compounds over time and never starts over.
Is Kinspire just for families who can't access therapy?+
No. Many Kinspire families are actively in therapy. Kinspire fills the 167 hours per week when families are outside the therapy room. It helps parents carry the clinical understanding from their child's sessions into daily life - reinforcing what therapists are working on, in the real moments where it matters. For families on waitlists, it provides immediate support. For families in therapy, it makes that therapy more effective. It's not either/or.
10 - The Podcast
What is the Built For Your Family™ podcast?+
Built For Your Family™ is a podcast by Kinspire hosted by Lily Baiser, MS, OTR/L, and Dr. Jill Gitten Aloia, PhD, ABPP-CN - two clinicians who are also parents of outside-the-box kids. Every parenting podcast tells you what to do. This one explains why. Each episode takes a hard moment, a behavior, or a pattern - breaks down the nervous system science behind it, gives you specific actionable guidance, and ends with a real parent call-in where Lily or Dr. Jill responds specifically to their family. No prep needed. Just press play.
Where can I listen?+
The podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google. Free, always. Season One includes 12 episodes launching May 2026, covering topics from sensory profiles and executive function to regulation, behavior, environment, and what to do when you finally have the understanding but aren't sure where to start.
Can I suggest a topic or appear on the show?+
Yes - and Lily and Dr. Jill read every submission. Every episode comes from what parents are actually living through. You can suggest a topic (the most requested moments become episodes) or apply to go live with Lily and Dr. Jill for a real coaching segment. No prep needed - just describe what's been hardest, how your child shows up in it, and a little about who they are. You'll receive a real response, specific to your family, with a clinical lens built only for you.
Is the podcast a replacement for Kinspire?+
The podcast gives you a window into how Kinspire thinks about behavior, regulation, and your child's nervous system. Kinspire is where you go deeper - with support built for your family. The show isn't a replacement for care; it's a way to understand the clinical point of view. When you're ready for more than an episode, Kinspire brings that same perspective into your daily life - practical, specific, and free to start.
