About Christy
Hello! I'm a licensed occupational therapist, and I'm thrilled to introduce myself to potential Kinspire families. I earned my master's degree in occupational therapy at Mount Mary University and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I am a dedicated lifelong learner with a passion for pediatrics. I have experience working in a variety of settings, particularly in an outpatient clinic with children of all ages and abilities.
Over the years, I have pursued advanced training in various topics of interest, including sensory processing (interoception), a modern approach to self-regulation, primitive reflexes/reflex integration, the Get Permission approach to feeding/starting solids, growth mindset, mental health/trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, strengths-based approaches to autism, and neurodiversity-affirming training.
Throughout my career, I have developed a deep appreciation for the therapeutic alliance created through parent/child collaboration. My personal experience with parenthood has also been a profound source of inspiration, leading me to this unique opportunity. My mission is to offer guidance that empowers families to navigate areas with room for growth and explore strategies to meet their goals, helping the family thrive.
Outside of helping families
Other interests.
Family, friends, pets (cat, Small Munsterlander, and fish), adventure, yoga/aerial yoga, music, movies, photography, food.
Kinspire's unique collaborative process and partnership between the OT and caregiver allows me to connect with families, empower parents and support child development. As a parent myself, I believe in the power of parent involvement and OT perspective to deepen understanding, attunement and co-exploration of strategies to navigate challenges, improve independence, skill development, to ultimately enrich the quality of everyday life.
